Mark Distribution
Dhaka University admission authority changes their existing admission marks distribution. They reduce MCQ & CGPA marks and increase written exam marks. According to the new marks distribution, 60 marks for MCQ test, 40 marks for the written test.

Requirement
The University of Dhaka (DU) has updated its minimum entrance exam criteria by raising the minimum GPA requirement starting from the previous academic year. Candidates who have passed SSC/ equivalent examination from 2017 to 2020 and the HSC/ equivalent examination in 2022 from any group can apply for admission. Below are the entry requirements for each unit:
Science UnitFor Science Background
❖ To be eligible to apply for admission, candidates must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.50 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) exams. Additionally, the total GPA, including additional subjects, must be at least 8.00.
For Humanities & Business Studies Background
❖ Applicants from Arts and Commerce backgrounds are eligible to apply for this unit, but they must have obtained at least 3.00 GPA in both their SSC anzd HSC (or equivalent) examinations. Furthermore, the total GPA, including additional subjects, must be at least 7.50.
Arts, Law and Social Science UnitFor Humanities Background
❖ To be eligible to apply for admission, candidates must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) exams. Additionally, the total GPA, including additional subjects, must be at least 7.50.
For Science & Business Studies Background
❖ To be eligible for admission to this unit, science students must have a minimum sum of GPA obtained in their secondary and higher secondary or equivalent examination (including 4th subject) of 8.0, with a minimum GPA of 3.5 separately. Commerce students, on the other hand, must have a minimum sum of GPA of 7.5, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 separately.
Business Studies UnitFor Business Studies Background
❖ Candidates must have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.00 in both their SSC and HSC (or equivalent) exams. Additionally, the total GPA, including additional subjects, must be at least 7.50.
For Humanities & Science Background

About DU
On the first day of July 1921 the University of Dhaka opened its doors to students with Sir P.J. Hartog as the first Vice-Chancellor of the University. The University was set up in a picturesque part of the city known as Ramna on 600 acres of land.
The University started its activities with 3 Faculties,12 Departments, 60 teachers, 877 students and 3 dormitories (Halls of Residence) for the students. At present the University consists of 13 Faculties, 83 Departments, 12 Institutes, 20 residential halls, 3 hostels and more than 56 Research Centres. The number of students and teachers has risen to about 37018 and 1992 respectively. The University of Dhaka is dedicated to the advancement of learning, and is committed to promoting research in all fields of knowledge. As there are plans for further expansion of facilities, plans for new avenues and opportunities, the course curricula are updated and new research projects are undertaken every year.
