How to Apply

❖ Application processing fee is Taka 1050 (One Thousand fifty) only for each faculty

❖ Application processing fee must be deposited online through your preferred Card/Mobile Financial Services/Internet Banking. Service charge is applicable. Detailed Payment procedure is available at "How to Apply" link on the admission website admission.bup.edu.bd

Special Instructions

❖ Admission Test will be taken in MCQ System and 0.25 marks wiil be deducted for each wrong answer

❖ Candidates having foreign degree (Except 'O'/'A' Level/International Baccalaureate) must have-the equivalence certificate from Ministry of Education/Education Board/University Grants Commission of Bangladesh

❖ Minimum 40% marks to be obtained in English for qualifying in the examination.

❖ Candidates eligible for Quota should bring all supporting documents during admission.

❖ Following mark distribution will be followed for the assessment of candidates of all faculties except MBA:
(1) MCQ =65%
(2) HSC/Equivalent Result=25%
(3) SSC/Equivalent Result=20%(Total=100%)

❖ For Two Year MBA Programme:(1) MCQ=65%,
(2) Undergraduate / Bachelor / Honours / Equivalent Result =15%
(3) HSC / Equivalent Result=10%
(4) SSC/ Equivalent Result=10%

❖ Students who passed BBA from the Department of Business Administration - General, under the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS), BUP need not appear at the Admission Test. They are advised to submit an application to the Chairman, Department of Business Administration - General, FBS before the last date of the examination.

❖ Total marks (not GPA) of HSClequivalent and SSClequivalent will be, converted to percentage.

❖ The Help Desk will remain open from 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM on each working day from 17 December 2023 to 04 January 2024 at the reception of the university. For any query, applicants. may call at 09666790790, 01769028788-89 during the above time.

❖ Incomplete application will not be considered for admission. BUP authority reserves all rights to) cancel candidature of any candidate without showing any reason.

❖ The university authority reserves the right to cancel/modify/change any information given in this advertisement.

Four Year Honours Programs Eligibility for Admission
BSS (Hons) in Development Studies (1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination from any discipline/group.

(2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 9.00 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.50 in each of the examinations.

(3) Candidates from Business Studies Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.50 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.00 in each of the examinations.

(4) Candidates from Humanities Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.00 in each of the examinations.

(5) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

(6) Candidates from International Baccalaureate (IB) must pass in minimum 06 (six) subjects having minimum 30 points based on the rating scale used in their curriculum (7, 6, 5, 4). Rating of 1, 2 and 3 will not be considered in point calculation.

(7) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of Economics must have minimum 'A-' (A Minus) grade in Economics /Accounting/Statistics/Higher Mathematics either in SSC/equivalent or HSC/equivalent examination. Candidates from 'O' Level or 'A' Level background must have minimum D grade in any of the above mentioned subiects.

(8) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of Disaster & Human Security Management must be qualified from Science Group in SSC/equivalent examination. Candidates must have studied Higher Mathematics/Statistics in HSC/equivalent level and obtained minimum 'A-' (A Minus) grade in the examination.

(9) Candidates applying for admission in the Department of English must have minimum 'A-' (A Minus) grade in English both in SSC/equivalent examination and HSC/equivalent examination.

BBA in Accounting & Information Systems (1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination from any discipline/group.

(2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 9.00 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.25 in each of the examinations.

(3)Candidates from Business Studies Group must obtain a total GPA of a.so· in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.00 in each of the examinations.

(4) Candidates from Humanities Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.50 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.00 in each of the examinations.

(5) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

BSc in Information and Communication Engineering (BICE) (1) A candidate must pass SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination from science discipline/group.

(2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 9.25 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.50 in each of the examinations.

(3) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

(2) Candidates from Science Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.50 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 4.00 in each of the examinations.

(3) Candidates from Business Studies Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.25 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 3. 75 in each of the examinations.

(4) Candidates from Humanities Group must obtain a total GPA of 8.25 in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examination with minimum GPA 3.75 in each of the examinations.

(5) Candidates from General Certificate of Education (GCE) 0 and A level background must pass in minimum 05 (five) and 02 (two) subjects respectively having minimum 26.5 points in total based on the following scale:

About BUP

Establishment of a university for the armed forces educational and training institutes was a long felt need. National security, war strategy, medical, engineering and technology related to higher studies are in high demand at present.

To keep pace and to be at par with the fast developing world, the national higher studies, research enabling modern knowledge and creating scope for education and studies are the obligations to be fulfilled. In order to expand and integrate the existing educational and training institutes of the armed forces, they were needed to be brought under a single umbrella or authority. Thereby, the establishment of Bangladesh University of Professionals, (BUP) took place in that process and came in to being as 29th public university of Bangladesh on 05 June 2008." BUP is a unique public university run by the armed forces with upholding the motto "EXCELLENCE THROUGH KNOWLEDGE". The youngest university is confident in furthering the knowledge in the field of national security, technology and modern science to achieve the desired human resources development of the country.
